This week, our Assignment was to Read Pages 95-107 of Deborah Moebes' Stitch By Stitch and Sew "Picnic Place Mat with Bias-Bound Edges"
I don't know about you, but I don't know if I've ever used a place mat while on a picnic....not to mention I'd have to 5 for a complete set for our family.
So, instead, I used this week's assignment to make a little carrying case for some sewing utensils:
Here's a little advice when you're learning to sew:
It's not always going to look perfect....but looks and functionality are 2 different things. I've been sewing for a few years now, and although most people would be impressed with the things I can make:
I, on the other hand, only see my mistakes:
The best thing is....it still works!
Now I can have a place to store my scissors and markers where the kiddos won't get at them so easily.
Pretty handy, huh?
